BIAPA’s Brain Injury Resource Line (BIRL) is staffed by volunteers who are able to provide information about resources that may be of help to people with brain injury or their family.

Delaware Valley Residential Care

Funding for brain injury rehabilitation/cognitive rehabilitation in Pennsylvania

The Head Injury Program of Pennsylvania provides one year of comprehensive, intensive brain injury rehabilitation services to individuals with traumatic brain injury. There are eligibility requirements in order to qualify. To apply, call (717) 772-2762. An enrollment specialist will send you an application in the mail. The program can provide a Pre-enrollment Assistance Coordinator to assist you in completing the application.

Community Health Choices also known as the Medicaid Waiver provides a variety of services to individuals with either traumatic or acquired brain injuries, such as a home health aide, transportation, home and vehicle modifications, and supported living. There are eligibility requirements in order to qualify for the program. To apply, call the PA Independent Enrollment Broker/Maximus at (877) 550-4227.

Funding for brain injury rehabilitation/cognitive rehabilitation in New Jersey

The Traumatic Brain Injury Fund provides funding for individuals with traumatic brain injuries to receive brain injury related services. There are eligibility requirements in order to qualify. To apply, call (888) 285-3036 or download the application from the website below.

The Traumatic Brain Injury Waiver provides services to prevent individuals with traumatic brain injuries from living in a skilled nursing facility/nursing home. There are eligibility requirements in order to qualify. To apply, call (800) 356-1561.

In a variety of locations and community-based settings, we offer a continuum of care and rehabilitation options, including specialized services for infants, children, adolescents, Military Service Members and Veterans.

Neuro-Hope

Neuro-Hope is the boutique clinical services arm of the Institute for Cognitive Prosthetics (ICP), a Research & Development organization. ICP’s mission is to advance the ability to treat cognitive disabilities, by making computer technology accessible to rehabilitation therapists and their patients. Neuro-Hope provides hope for people who have had brain injury rehabilitation and are no longer progressing in their recovery.

Pennsylvania Department of Health

The NeuroResource Facilitation Program (NRFP) is a service that helps individuals 18 and older with traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and their family members identify and navigate resources, services, and supports. The Department of Health’s NRFP provides assistance in accessing local brain injury services offered throughout Pennsylvania. The goal of the NRFP is to help individuals with TBI live independently in their homes and communities.

Traumatic Brain Injury Program – Penn Medicine

The Traumatic Brain Injury team at Penn consists of physicians, specialists, researchers, nurses and support staff who focus on the diagnosis, treatment and research advancements of TBI. The Program consists of: TBI Outpatient Clinic, TBI Research, TBI Research Team, and TBI Support Group.

The Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR)

The Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, or OVR, provides vocational rehabilitation services to help persons with disabilities prepare for, obtain, or maintain employment. OVR provides services to eligible individuals with disabilities, both directly and through a network of approved vendors. Services are provided on an individualized basis. The OVR counselor, during face-to-face interviews, assists customers in selecting their choice of vocational goals, services and service providers.

If you have Medicaid or Medical Assistance, you may qualify for transportation to your medical appointments. Each county has their own Medical Assistance Transportation Program (MATP). A doctor may need to complete a physician form to set up the service.
